Science Centers Program

Description:
The science centers are well-developed, productive and attractive educational entities where teaching and learning programs, events and activities
are designed and practiced in line with state-of-the art standards to support the achievement of educational goals.

Vision:To build a network of leading science centers that adopt and support innovative thinking in attractive learning environments that
contribute to transforming the Kingdom into a knowledge-based society.

Mission: To teach and inspire youth and help teachers raise awareness of the importance of science, technology, engineering and math
(STEM) in the 21st Century.

Strategic Goal:To contribute to preparing a scientific generation capable of keeping abreast of changes and make a significant contribution
to sustainable development of the country.

Accomplishments in 2015
• Prepared, equipped and operated 3 science centers (Jeddah, Taif and Aseer)
• Trained (54) operational staff members from the science centers
• Developed (152) educational toolkits for the science centers
• Equipped and operated (6) mobile science centers, which served (42,700) students in a number of regions across the Kingdom
• Equipped Al-Qasim Science Center and supervised the community partnership to establish and equip Al-Zamil Oasis for Science

   with a budget of 50 million riyals
